Abstract:

Clusters are important probes of cosmological evolution. The Sunyaev- Zeldovich effect through the scattering of background photons offers an efficient selection of large, complete cluster samples with a mass limit independent of redshift. Subsequent studies, and systematic checks, will result in better understanding of cluster evolution and lead to improved methods to probe cosmology with clusters. A number of different experiments are on the way. With specific examples I will discuss prospects and challenges for SZ cluster surveying to work in practice.
