Condensed Matter Seminar Announcement Dr. Valery Rousseau UC Davis (Physics Department) " Phase separation in the 2D bosonic Hubbard model with ring exchange " Date: Thursday, June 2, 2005 Time: 2:10 pm 416 Physics Abstract: We show that soft core bosons in two dimensions with a ring exchange term exhibit a tendency for phase separation. This observation suggests that the thermodynamic stability of normal bose liquid phases driven by ring exchange should be carefully examined.
