Universe at UC Davis Initiative - This initiative is a faculty recruitment plan for a multi-disciplinary initiative on the UC Davis campus focusing on the frontier of physics and information: a multi-disciplinary collaboration devoted to experimental/observational probes of Dark Energy and Dark Matter with the ultimate facility for probing this new physics being the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). Over the next two years, six new faculty will be hired in the four departments - two in Physics, two in CS, and one each in Math and Statistics.
