This picture was taken by our Dean Prof. Winston Ko on October 10, the inauguration day of MAGIC. MAGIC is the largest gamma-ray telescope in the world (17 m diameter mirror). Our group at UC Davis (Daniel Ferenc, Eckart Lorenz, Daniel Kranich and Alvin Laille) has participated in the project. MAGIC will open the last unexplored window in the cosmic electromagnetic spectrum, from 20 GeV to 250 GeV gamma-ray energy.
