Applications for admission are accepted for fall quarter
only. An applicant for admission must have a bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university with a grade-point average of 3.0 or
better (on a scale where A = 4.0) in the junior and senior years and in
any graduate courses taken. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
general exam and subject exam are required.
A complete application consists of the following:
- Online
application
- Statement of Purpose
- 3 letters of recommendation
- GRE scores (general and subject)
- TOEFL scores (International applications only)
- Transcripts from each intitution you have attended
- $60 Fee for U.S. Applicants or $80 USD for
International Students
All portions of the
applications must be submitted online, except for transcripts.
Transcripts need to be mailed directly to the Physics Department. No
other application materials will be accepted via mail.
If your application is missing any of the
required application materials, we will contact you directly.
Please do not send inquiries to check on your application status.
The Institution code for the GRE and TOEFL exams is
4834. The Department code for the GRE exam is 0808 and 76 for the TOEFL
exam. Please have ETS send scores electronically to the university.
We strongly encourage applicants to complete the Internal
Fellowship Application. The Internal Fellowship Application must be
completed as part of the onliine application.
