The third annual CPAPC/UC Davis Physics Graduate Admissions Bootcamp
will be held September 8-9, 2012. The bootcamp focuses on preparing
for the Physics GRE (the main factor seniors can control at this
point) but also includes grad school admissions advice, a panel on
grad student life, and a valuable chance to meet and interact with
your peers from throughout northern California. All of these aspects
have been highly rated by students in previous camps. The event will
be held on the UC Davis campus. The agenda will be very similar to
the
2011 bootcamp agenda. All meals will be provided, thanks to the
UC Davis Office of Graduate Studies. CPAPC would especially like to encourage underrepresented minorities and women to attend. Physics is in need of your talents! Prepare for the bootcamp by studying the currently available practice booklet (from 2008) as much as possible (and, if you desire, older exams from 1986 and 1992 available on the internet). Try not to study the 1996 and 2001 exams because we will use them as fresh material during the weekend.
Ready? Register here!Questions? Contact David Wittman (dwittman@physics.ucdavis.edu). Need to meet people to set up carpools or share a hotel room? Check out our Facebook page. A similar bootcamp is held, usually in the spring, in southern California (thanks to Andreas Bill of CSU Long Beach for doing the organizing). We thank the UC Davis Office of Graduate Studies for funding these very productive events! |
